To facilitate students from areas outside Malang, UMM provides housing in the form of Student Rental Flats (Rusunawa). UMM has two Rusunawa complexes, namely:
Rusunawa I is north of UMM Campus III, Jetis street - Bawang Tegalgondo, Malang. Rusunawa consists of two building blocks, where Block A has a capacity of 240 people, and Block B has a capacity of 190 people. Rusunawa I was built in 2008, and in its construction, UMM collaborated with the Ministry of Public Housing of the Republic of Indonesia. Each block has four floors containing rooms measuring 5.2 x 4.2 m, equipped with private bathrooms, beds, wardrobes, study tables, and chairs. Other facilities besides the rooms are a kitchen, worship place, hall, and parking area. Block A is a temporary shelter for P2KK program participants, held for two months at the start of a new school year.
Rusunawa II is located next to the UMM Campus III stadium. Rusunawa II was built in 2010 and consisted of one block of 4-story buildings with a capacity of 285 people. Room facilities in Rusunawa II are the same as those in Rusunawa I, namely rooms equipped with private bathrooms, beds, wardrobes, worship place, kitchens, halls, and parking lots.
